Are You One Of Those PICKY People?
Look up the word “picky” in the dictionary, and my guess is that you wouldn’t want to be described this way: Niggling, persnickety, fussy, finicky, particular, anal, demanding, snobby… the list of yucky adjectives goes on and on.
Bottom line, to be picky is to look for what’s WRONG, rather than what might be right, in people and in situations, and from this matchmaker’s perspective, looking for what’s wrong is the kiss of death in dating.
I firmly believe that how we do one thing is how we do most things. How you behave as a single person, out there in the world, doing life solo is very much the way you’ll show up to your future partner in a relationship, should you find yourself in that situation. And that’s a big IF…. as the pickier you are, the less likely you are to land in a relationship at all. Why? Because you veto everyone, and in the rare instance where there might actually be someone who makes the cut, the great likelihood is that YOU will be the one who’s then vetoed… probably for being negative, critical, judgmental and basically…no fun to be with. The more desirable a person is, the more options and opportunities that person has in dating, and with all of those accessible options, why on earth would that in-demand person choose to be with someone who’s fussy and picky, the type who’s always whining, moaning, bitching and complaining? continue reading…
